Our vision for the Riverpoint Campus: Develop a metropolitan campus and academic health center that sets the standard for urban revitalization through higher education community partnerships and targeted investment. Lying at the heart of the University District, we will benefit from development around us of support services, housing, entertainment, and professional offices that can offer our students internships and work experience, and space for businesses that may originate in our faculty’s research discoveries. Revitalization along the East Sprague corridor will increase the value of development opportunities we can offer through public-private partnerships on the south half of campus property. The pedestrian/bike bridge over the railroad tracks will provide a vital link to the medical district to serve our students in the health sciences, and will enhance safety for our students, staff, faculty, and visitors. All these and more will be realized through aggressive development of the University District, and WSU wholeheartedly supports it.
