Brandon Betty

 

Brandon Betty is the Project Coordinator for Spokane’s University District and will work directly with the stakeholders that comprise the University District Development Association. Brandon’s role will be to manage all University District initiatives, including project implementation, marketing and communications, and overall University District administration. Brandon will also work with private sector initiatives within the University District and facilitate relationships with the City of Spokane and other area agencies. Finally, he will strive to grow additional partnerships within the University District to create the most broad participation possible.

Although Brandon is new to Spokane, he has quickly found involvement with the local community. While earning his Master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University, Brandon interned for Mayor Verner’s Sustainability Task Force and completed his thesis on Municipal Planning for Sustainability. Prior to graduate school, Brandon served two and a half years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the southwestern Dominican Republic along the Haitian border. There his worked focused on community development, environmental preservation, and small income generation.

Brandon received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Spanish from the University of Idaho.

Brandon is originally from Southeastern, Idaho where his immediate family resides.
